i got my cpu up to 3.6 ghz. up from 3 ghz. runs 5 degrees hotter. completely stable. I did the math and that 0.6 ghz gives me a 15-20% fps boost in cs:s. The source engine is all about the cpu. i feel special.

It does shorten the life a bit. i think i'm going to go back to stock clocks soon since a performance increase isn't really needed.

its a 20% increase which is good with a stock heatsink and fan. It's plenty. plus i managed to stay below stock voltages .

As I said, it lags when I type in certain strings.

i don't think it's the cpu u should be worried about... it could be your crappy intel media accelerator... or the 5400 rpm hard drive.

or his 2GB of RAM, in which Vista eats 1.2GB and firefox eats 200MB and other programs cut the rest up. Hard drive is not a problem unless you are continuously saving. Also Vaio has a keyboard bug - ie you can't press the same key too fast, or else it won't register what you pressed.
