Atheist. If god existed, and was really as good as they make him out to be, he would stop us from killing the fuck out of eachother.

Jack, god wasn't always such a nice guy that people make him out to be. God evolves. God evolves because it is we who interpret him or we who create him.
Anyways...
I choose to be agnostic because there are things you just can't know.
A wise man named Socrates was crowned as being the wisest man in all of Greece by the oracle of Delphi. Nothing that the gods work in mysterious ways he went on a quest to understand why it was he that was named the wisest. Long story short, he realized that he really knew nothing. It was because he KNEW HE KNEW NOTHING that he was the wisest man in all of Greece.
(Mr. Common's teaching at work)
Theism is the belief in god. Clearly not based on logic. right?
Atheism is the BELIEF that there are no gods. More logical considering technological advancements explaining many new things.
Agnosticism is the belief that you cannot know whether there is a god or not. To know that you cannot know. Realizing that you know nothing.
The irony is too rich too not be agnostic.
I'm not saying I'm right, this is just how i view things.

Wasn't the oracle of Delphi a chick that was always high because she was always inhaling fumes from a lava vent. And didn't a monk "interpret" her ramblings? Seems like Socrates got led off.

Some people don't think socrates even existed. There is no written proof that he existed. (to my knowledge)
And yet it is still a very nice story.

If you think about this logically, there is no evidence that God doesn't exist, so we can't put off that possibility. For Jack though, have you ever heard the term "God's divine wrath"? Look it up in the bible, it states that if you do something bad then you will repent for it.
Not saying Jack is wrong, he is actually right, the way the Christian religion works is that God is actually pretty nice, although he has no mercy upon sinners.
God is twisting our minds, thus we are having this philosophical debate.

I can make a pretty convincing case for or against the existence of any form of deity. I'm more favoring the existence of god though.

Yes but do you worship him? I think he exists but is an asshole. Satan ftw. It's a shame I'm not that hardcore though...I should start listening to black metal...

Austin, I have to disagree with you. This is why: God's deal-live a life of relative torment (going to Church, being faithful etc) but get an eternity of reward for it (Heaven) Satan's Deal: live a life of freeloading and general awesomeness, but suffering eternal torment for it (Hell) When I think about, I'd far rather spend a life of being good and eternal bliss afterward than bliss during life and eternal torment for it. (This is assuming Heaven and Hell exist). God in this situation sounds far less asshole-ish than Satan to me.

When you say that we cannot prove that god exists, that might be true now, but it is possible that in the future, our massive technological advancements and advanced intellect may reach a point where our mental capabilities will make proving the existence of God as simple as proving the Earth is round (though it's not that simple, a better example would be proving how techies can't carry in a competitive game). For example, something like the Schrodinger's cat thought experiment, in which a cat can exist as both dead and alive at the same time, would be almost impossible to understand 2000 years ago (still impossible to understand, I have a feeling Jason is going to pwn me about now). Personally, I have no reason to believe in a God, or that I have as much reason to believe in God as I do in the God of DotA, whose sons are Merlini and holyhexor. Actually, screw that I'll change to theism.
