General tips that apply to most races:
-during early game you HAVE to capture strategic points and build listening posts on them. you're screwed for the rest of the game if you don't.
-Get your commander unit quickly. They generally are really strong and can help a ton if there is an early rush against you
-TECH TECH TECH TECH & TECH. You'd be amazed at how strong units that you thought were obsolete late game really aren't.
-Use a variety of units. Massing one unit will lose you the game pretty fast when the enemy builds something to counter it.
-Use your squad abilities. Once you've teched your squad so that they have abilities use them. Some basic squads have ways to CC some of the strongest units in the game.
-Share strategic points with your ally and decide who gets the relic. Don't take the relic if you aren't planning on building your relic unit because that's just fucking annoying for your partner. They like to have requisition too
-Always reinforce, always produce. It doesn't matter how ub3r 1337 your mega-armoured nob squad is they're gonna get mowed down if you don't keep replacing them while in combat.
-Pay attention to what your enemy is using. If your enemy is massing fire warriors and broadsides don't be a dumbshit and mass chaos space marines with heavy bolters, they're just gonna get out ranged and out shot. Always have a variety in your army so that you can effectively counter your enemy.
-Detector units. Get them. Even one can save your hide when there are Tau stealth teams all over your base killing your buildings. Doesn't matter how strong your army is if you can't see the enemy's.
-Build base defenses. You never know when some douchebag space marine player might deep strike into your base and try to kill your HQ.
-Get power early game. Don't wait till you need because you will lose by then.
-Learn your race inside out.
-Pay attention to your strategic points and keep them defended. If you let a few stormboyz slip behind the front lines and take all your requisition producing shit you're aren't gonna be able to reinforce your squads fast enough to face that squigoth.
I'll post more if I think/notice anything.

I did some research and apparently in Dawn of War: Dark Crusade the Orks have the highest win/loss ratio, followed by the chaos. The tau are actually on the bottom with the necrons just above them.
In Soulstorm Tau and Orks have the lead whereas Sisters of Battle and Dark Eldar are at the bottom.
Clearly we just suck.
